A Barossa Experience – The Clubhouse, Tanunda
Nearly without fail – most family birthday celebrations happen at The Clubhouse. Nana is a faithful member (quiet high on the footy tipping chart) and so the rest of us follow suit – meaning free corkage and cakeage for all members – who can say no to that!
The dining room is fitted with a massive local photograph, taking up the entire back wall – this season features our family house in the background (very exciting I know)! The menu is chockers full of choice, quality and my favourite bit – local produce. I usually end up with food envy once the meals come to the table and stealing a bite from your neighbours plate is a given. If the menu doesn’t take your fancy, the specials board is another temptation on its own.
The wine list is outstanding and the front bar is fitted with an enomatic system – to ensure those precious local drops stay fresh for each glassful.
The room was abuzz with customers, a busy Sunday lunchtime – but our meals come out promptly and the devouring began! Between us there was a “Bloody Big Burger”, the Fish of the Day, Pork Belly and the Barossa Halloumi Salad (I know, I just can’t help myself – I have to try our cheese…. Just in case). Washed down with a glass or two of Langmeil’s Bella Rouge! Not a single crumb was left on the plate – everyone thoroughly enjoyed every single mouthful!
A great family friendly venue that supports local in many ways, shapes and forms!
Until my next experience,
